    Her First Cornrows

Cornrowing is a very old art of taming and adorning the hair. My Aunt Marion referred to it as cultivation. She shaid that hair has to be cultivated like the land. You have to remove all of the nits, knots, lint and other particles that dull and break otherwise healthy hair.

Avalon is 2 years old. Her older sister, Paris gets her hair cornrowed and braided all of the time. Avalon is very fussy while her sister is pampered by her cousin, mom, grandma or hairdresser. She seems to equate that time as very valuable. Every time Paris has her hair done Avalon has to get a brushing or something so she won't feel left out. I asked her if she wanted it braided like her sister and she started pointing at the combs and brushes. It was as if she had been waiting for that moment a long time. Today was the first time she had her wavy hair braided. I really did not believe how patiently she sat waiting for her hair to be finished. She never whimpered or squirmed at all. It was uncanny. She knew exactly what was happening.

Her soft baby hair loves the moisturizing qualities of frizz eaze products, especially "secret weapon". It loves her hair and keeps it moisturized for a longer time without an oily residue.
She will have to come to terms with her father about this style that he doesn't think fits his little girl because she has good hair. It will be very interesting to see him take them out. She loves the braids and she loves the care and closeness required to get
    them.

.Introducing AvalonShe has watched her older sister get cornrows for 2 years now.She understands that Paris is getting valuable one on one time with Mom or Grandma when she gets her hair done.
